About the Founder

Tom Cobbs began programming at 10 years old on an 8-bit VIC-20 home computer with 3.5k of memory in BASIC (Beginners All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code).  Two years later he was spending his summers in the computer labs at Virginia Tech.  During that time he worked on Apple II, IBM PC’s, and even the Apple Lisa learning BASIC, Assembly, PASCAL, and C programming languages.  By the time he was in middle-school he had gotten a job at a local computer re-seller (after getting a special work permit from the court due to his age).  During his teenage years he began writing programs for local companies from tracking sales in vending machines to calculating the core average burn temperatures for nuclear reactors.  After graduating high school, Tom began working part time with a local software startup company that developed a disk utility and repair program.  He traveled internationally demonstrating the software.

In 1992 he went to work full time with a programming shop, spending the next 16 years developing applications and programming for Unix and windows based systems in C, FoxPro, Visual Basic, Access, VBA, COBOL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and later .NET.  During this time he worked with developing and integrating into systems for Accounting, Manufacturing, Healthcare, Laboratory Systems, and Point of sale.  He implemented, trained and supported and modified applications including Microsoft Great Plains, Visual Manufacturing, Platinum, Made2Manage, Realworld, and Titan as well as writing custom systems from the ground up.  In 2010 Tom left the programming shop and dived into learning the health care industry becoming a DBA and programmer for a large healthcare facility

In 2011 with both pressure and encouragement from his previous clients he left his healthcare employer and formed his own company continuing to develop and integrate systems and applications from every business sector across many technology platforms.
